Kazakhstan is not only the world鈥檚 largest landlocked country, it鈥檚 also home to far-flung Johnnie Daniel Scarborough (SF01). Scarborough is an assistant professor of Russian history and religion at Nazarbayev University in the former Soviet state鈥檚 capital, Nur-Sultan (previously known as Astana), and he has just published a new book, Russia鈥檚 Social Gospel: The Orthodox Pastoral Movement in Famine, War, and Revolution.
